France: Government “very concerned” by situation of the Iranian Baha’i leaders

1 April 2011

In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of France said it is very concerned over the decision to restore the 20-year prison sentences of Iran’s seven Baha’i leaders, in spite of an appeal court ruling that reduced it by half. “France firmly condemns violence and discrimination against, and the harassment of, Baha’is in Iran which prohibit them from exerting their freedom of religion or belief…” said the statement.
