Germany: Human Rights Commissioner describes "alarming treatment" of Iran’s ethnic and religious minorities

In a statement, the German Federal Government's Human Rights Commissioner Markus Löning expressed his grave concern at the “worryingly large number of death sentences or long prison terms” recently “imposed by Iranian courts on members of minorities in Iran.” “I call on Iran to respect the human rights of all its citizens equally, and to protect these human rights, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation.”
